On Farm Solutions

Manure management

Challenge

Biomass Resource Management is a GROWING global challenge.

  • United States alone creates over 1.5 billion tons of on farm biomass waste « Resources » annually. (in excess of 35 Billion tons globally)

  • Unprocessed biomass leeches into our ecosystem (Pesticides, hormones, antibiotics and other infectious agents).

  • The over-nutrification of scarce fresh water resources creating algae blooms and harming eco systems

  • Over-nitrification of soil resources

  • Agriculture needs options to support increased pressures (economic, social and environmental demands).

  • Lack of Emergency Preparedness (Outbreaks and natural disasters).

  • Consensus building that change is needed at all levels.

BGP Solution

BGP’s On farm and on-site solutions are highly versatile to support customers with a wide array of environmental biomass waste management needs. Our leading gasification technology rooted in our understanding of farm operations has taught us that just as important as gasification is to a solution, the same applies to the materials handling of the feedstock; which BGP provides a recommended approach to.

  • BGP provides a continuous feed gasification solution to enable an onsite scalable waste management with the resulting by products of energy and ash (useable and sellable)

Organic Biomass Waste

Challenge

Cannabis, Mushroom substrate, vine clippings, orchard clippings, coconut husk, cocoa husk, distillery must, rice hulls, invasive Loosestrife and many other organics are growing at alarming levels coupled with landfill limitations are challenging the management of organics.

BGP Solution

The organics from on and off farm can be utilized as feedstock for gasified solutions to eliminate the growing amounts of on and off farm biomass. BGP is exploring the use of these in solution for heating greenhouses and/or providing electricity to greenhouse operations.

Municipal Waste Water & Municipal Organic Waste Diversion

 BGP Solution

BGP’s Continuous Feed Gasifiers can be adapted for these applications to provide a solution to the elimination of the waste while creating power for the community and further using the ash residual in building materials such as concrete and asphalt; completing a closed loop solution to municipal waste water.  .

BGP’s Continuous Feed Gasifiers can be implemented as a solution to the growing need to eliminate the amount of organic waste small communities manage. The communities can then provide power and heat to the operation or the community while using the ash in building products such as concrete and asphalt. .

Challenge

Everywhere smaller communities are faced with similar issues as large cities in managing the waste sludge from water filtration. Legislative changes to protect the environment are minimizing the ability for landfill of this biomass stream; unfortunately alternatives are few and costly.

Small communities globally face the same problems as large cities in their ability to manage and control organic waste with global laws changing the diversion criteria away from landfill.

Many jurisdictions in the United States and Canada are implementing

aggressive mandates for diversion.
